Hello Lovely Sangha Members, Guests, Friends, and Family!
Get ready to celebrate the season with a festive vegetarian/vegan potluck party!
Here are the details:
Date: Sunday, December 17th
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM (right after Sangha clean-up)
Arrive at 3:50 pm for 1.5 hour Sangha gathering, meditation, and sharing before party if you wish!
Location: First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego (UU)
4190 Front St, SD 92103
In Bard Hall (we have a sign directing you there after you pass the front gate and office)
Potluck: Please bring a delicious vegetarian or vegan dish to share. Don't forget to label your dish with its contents!
Utensils & Beverages: Bring your own utensils, place setting, napkin, and beverage. The kitchen will not be available.
Games & Music: Feel free to bring games or music to add to the fun!
Bring Your Loved Ones: We encourage you to bring your friends and family! They are welcome to join the Sangha gathering at 4:00 PM (arrive at 3:50 PM to settle in) or come directly for the party at 5:30 PM.
Parking: A parking pass to the church parking lot is attached and should be placed in your windshield during the event (even though the ending time says 6 pm, we can still use it to stay later)

Dear Friends on the Path,
Interested in practicing mindfulness, living in community, and serving the Deer Park Monastery with your construction skills? The monastery is forming a team of lay volunteers to offer their time and service to help build our new residence for the Monks at the monastery. The team would reside at the monastery or commute if some live near the monastery during this period of construction need.
We have finished our first plan check (good news!) We have raised all the needed funds for the building. This is a wonderful Sangha-building opportunity, very much like in the old days of the “barn raising” tradition.
We hope to start work on the project in mid- to late January.
We still need volunteers with construction or labor experience, especially skilled trades-people (Purchasing, Framing, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing), who can commute or stay at the monastery, ideally for two weeks to three weeks, or for one month or more.
If you have some construction/labor experience or know professionals in the area who may be willing to offer some of their time, please contact us as soon as possible.
